Ok it's crazy how fast this is coming round! So the first update I have is we got an email on the 5th of July from Disney Programs inviting us to a Welcome session. It was a 60 minute session and there was two to choose from that you could attend via Zoom. However I was in Glasgow for my graduation during both sessions so I wasn't able to attend but my friend filled me in on all the info.
On my way down to Glasgow for my graduation I dropped off my passport and visa documents at DX Express Couriers. It was very easy, they gave me an envelope to transfer my documents into and a barcode with a tracking number. She let me know it should take up to 14 days to be processed.
I did however get a bit anxious. One of my friends Visa applications were denied because they hadn't included the I-797 form. They ended up booking a visa appointment at the US Embassy in London. Given how far I am from London I started panicking in case I would have to do the same thing. I ended up emailing the embassy with my I-797 form just in case. However once my friend got to the Embassy they were informed that they needed more information in order to complete a further background check. This is very rare and apparently happens to 1 in every million applications. This resulted in them having to push back their flight and start date until their visa issue is resolved.
On Friday 22nd of July my visa tracking changed from "no status" to "application received" and then on the 27th of July it changed to "Administrative Processing". Finally on the 29th of July the status changed to Issued! I also got an email to say my passport was on its way and would be delivered Monday 1st of August. After the issues my friend has faced the visa process has by far been the most stressful out of the whole process.
Also on the 29th of July I got an email from Disney to complete a bunch of forms on WorkDay. This process is new compared to last time and there was about 12 forms to digitally sign to do with health and safety, costuming etc.
