Oh, The Stories You'll Hear

If I Ran the Zoo

Tip #1: Water rides in the heat!

If they heat is getting to you check out the water rides, unlike Disney you don't get a little splashed, you get SOAKED! Check out Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges or Jurassic Park River Adventure at the hottest part of the day. At the same if you don't want to get wet, bring a poncho or you can spurge on the air dryers which are about $5 for a couple minutes.

Tip #2: Butterbeer

I believe everyone should try this once just so they can say they tried it but I don't see the point in trying every variation of the Butterbeer. The frozen version I found to be nicer as it's less sweet, as well as this I had bought the souvenir cup but has sat in the back of my wardrobe with loose change in it. You don't need to pay $5 extra just for a cup, save your money for a better souvenir you'll get use out of at home.

Tip #3: Merchandise

The Harry Potter area of Islands of Adventure is by far the busiest area in the park. Years later I still haven't made it into Ollivanders. The stores can be as busy as the rides. If you can't make it into the stores they sell basically everything in the Universal Store on Citywalk. So instead of stressing about getting merchandise in the park, check out the gift stores on your way out of the park.

Tip #4: Avoid Harry Potter early!

The Harry Potter area of the park is still the newest therefore when the park opens the crowd will flock there first. This is a great time to get in your favourite attractions while everyone is checking out Hogsmeade. I recommend rides like The Hulk or Spider-man as the times can get rather long later in the day.

Tip #5: Have a chat with a fountain!

Head to Sinbad's Bazaar in the Lost Continent area to talk with the Mystic Fountain. This mythical creature jokes and tells riddles with guests, and if you get it wrong be prepared to get a bit wet. This is a great little attraction for kids and adults and you can also toss a coin in to see what happens.

Tip #6: Post a letter from Hogsmeade

If you want to send postcards or letters home, check out the Owl Post in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You get the chance to send mail postmarked from Hogsmeade and you can also get Harry Potter stamps.
