Typhoon Lagoon is one of two Disney water theme parks in Orlando. It is home to the world's largest outdoor wave pool and is themed around the story of a typhoon that wrecked a previous tropical paradise.
Mount Mayday
Located behind the surf pool, it features "Miss Tilly" as well as the majority of the parks water slides.

Tip #1: Grab lounge chairs!
Guests are ruthless when it comes to finding the perfect seating area with shade and sun, how close they are to attractions, toilets, food, lockers etc. While a member of your party locates a locker, go out and find your perfect seating area, if you have young kids i recommend seating near toilets or Ketchakiddee Creek, if you like thrills seat near your favourite attraction. Personally we always sit near Hideaway Bay, Crush 'n' Gusher is our favourite and it also has a pool and a beach with umbrellas. It is also right by the lockers and since we are all adults who like to take photos and play with our phones it's rather ideal to be so close to the lockers.
Tip #2: Bring your own towels!
Most guests who visit for their first time don't realize that you have to rent towels. Save some cash and head to Wal-Mart and buy some for a dollar you can use for your entire holiday.
Tip #3: Visit first thing in the morning!
Although most people don't plan their whole holiday around a water park, I would still plan it out strategically. I wouldn't visit on a rainy day as although you'll mostly be in water, it does make for a less enjoyable day as sunbathing is out of the window. I recommend arriving first thing in the morning so you can grab beach chairs and you can hit the rides before the large lines. It also means you get to be in the park before the real heat hits or before a storm comes in as the normally hit in the afternoon.
Tip #4: Watch out for the waves!
The wave pool is the one of the best parts of the park but the waves are 6ft high! It's an intense experience and EVERYONE gets swept off their feet. Keep kids in the shallow end and make sure if you are in the deeper end that you can swim.
Tip #5: Bring an underwater camera!
You can get some of the best photos from your holiday at a water park but water and mobile phones don't mix. I recommend bringing an underwater camera, we use a digital one as the photos are much better quality and it means you don't have to get them developed. I would also recommend getting it before your trip as it'll be cheaper than getting it on property.
Tip #6: Take advantage of the snorkeling!
Not many guests realize that you can snorkel with sharks, stingrays and fish at no extra cost. The equipment is all included, the water may be cold but it's totally worth it!
